White Tutu Outfits Are Easy To Make Into Great Costumes

These days, costumes are not just for kids or for Halloween. Grownups like to dress up, too, for fan conventions and other events. For any female of any age, white tutu outfits are easy to make into great costumes. Many will not even require sewing, or will need minimal sewing skills, and additional materials will be very inexpensive. All you need is a little imagination. The obvious and easiest outfits to make are angels or butterflies. A white leotard, tights and a tutu can easily be transformed by adding wings. These can be either gauzy buttefly wings which you can buy, or angel wings, which may be bought or made from cardstock and decorated with glitter. For the butterfly, add a headband with antennae attached. For the angel, a tinsel halo is the crowning touch. The same idea goes for a princess, with a tiara or crown and, if she's a fairy princess, a wand.

Animals are equally easy to do. Add rabit ears and a fuzzy tale to a leotard and tights. Either add the tutu for an adorable fancy bunny or leave it off for a more realistic rendition. Use makeup to paint a pink bunny nose and bunny whiskers on the bunny's face, and there you are. You can do the same thing with cats and dogs, just change the ears and tail for your animal and paint the face. Steampunk, a type of fashion that combines Victorian and futuristic elements, is very popular today. For women and teenagers, a white tutu outfit can be the basis for a great steampunk outfit. Add tall boots over the white tights, slip a corset over the leotard, and add a tiny top hat or goggles and you're ready for your alternate history convention! This idea can easily be modified for a punk rocker outfit, by removing the tiny top hat or goggles, adding some fake tattoos, and spiking the hair or streaking or dying it with wild colors, using temporary dye, of course. Or, if you don't trust the temporary dye, get a punk rock wig at any costume store!

For a pirate costume, use the boots again. Add a red shirt tied at the midriff over the leotard, an eyepatch and a fake sword, and you're ready for the high seas!
